The sparks are going to fly in this one. Just to clarify we are not vindictive or angry or upset at any of these companies. They are just like 95% of the web design companies you find anywhere in the world. I am sure all of them have delivered beautiful websites and have clients that stand by them and trust them to provide results.
Our only goal here is to show that most run of the mill and trusted web design agencies still don't really grasp what is needed for mobile website viewers, and we are using the top five West Palm Beach web design companies own websites as examples.
In 2016 google made it clear that mobile friendly websites were going to be favored over those that are not. More recently it has said the exact same thing about website security playing a ranking factor by favoring sites with an SSL certificate.
Tens of thousands of web designers still listen to the foolish rantings of the team at moz, and in 2013 they published an article
showing that page load speed was not a ranking factor.
However when we look to Google itself
, we see they have been admitting to using speed as a factor since 2010 and recommending webmasters optimize their websites for speed. So it should not be a surprise to any company claiming to have SEO talent that today in 2017 speed can have a dramatic impact on your rankings.
In fact Google has made this such a big deal that companies like ours have made it a primary factor in deciding what software to use with our websites. This is one of many reasons we actually discourage people from using the widespread and well loved Wordpress.
Its amazing so many web designers and supposed SEO's are not paying more attention to this issue as google even filed a patent
for measuring site speed.
As one of my primary jobs is to beat google at its own game so my clients can have a big win instead of their competition (also known as SEO) I am not always a big fanboy of Google. But in this case they really have gotten this right. In fact to help web design companies build better websites they have released a free tool that will tell you how fast your site is loading, and also how mobile friendly it is.
So they didn't just force everyone to adopt mobile standards, and to adopt site optimization, they also provided tools that give great insight into how to do that to your own website.
SEO's use this tool to measure a sites performance in Google's eyes and make sure page load times are not hurting them.
So in one sense of the word I am a little bit hesitant to tell you what I am about to write. My competition could and likely may read this and use what I am about to share against my own search rankings to gain clients that I would prefer to have. But hey, if their attention to the mobile accessibility and load times of their own websites is any clue, I probably have nothing to worry about.
You can read the web address of each of the sites in the image. Note the scores google is giving each of them.
So each one of these sites could easily be improved to perform better than it is. To get performance up in to the 90-100 range will be challenging. How we we know this? We have software that does it for every one of our clients, and to be frank, its jaw dropping. In fact it is the fastest thing we have ever seen. It is quite possibly the fastest CRM on the web right now. We are pretty proud to present that option to our clients.
We built our own website using that exact same software. Here is the mobile performance we got out of the gate without any optimization or customization for mobile.
SouthFlo SEO is a newer brand in this market, but we have a lot of time and experience behind the name. In the next few months I will be showing how and why I am about to out-rank all of these companies in search results, and there is practically nothing they can do to prevent me. SEO is a zero sum game, and competition is part of the fun.
